Hi friends! My name is Jessie. I am the owner and lead videographer of Palmetto Wedding Films, a wedding videography company based in Charleston, South Carolina.

Here is a little bit of background on my experience in the video production world and how the company has evolved over the years.

From a young age, growing up in Boston, I always loved to film and document life. I first began creating home videos of my family with my dad’s camcorder in 3rd grade and loved making silly videos with my friends. I still have boxes and boxes of home videos in my closet to this day.

After earning degrees in Media Communications and Spanish from North Carolina State University in 2004, I began working in Raleigh, North Carolina as an assistant editor, camera operator, and production assistant at Guerrilla Productions, where I learned the basics of TV production while working on a cooking show called Carolina Cooking.

In 2005, I made the decision to move to beautiful Charleston, South Carolina. Shortly after arriving, I began working at Litton Entertainment as a full-time editor and producer on multiple nationally televised docu-reality TV series, including Hometeam, Exploration with Richard Weise and Animal Exploration with Jarod Miller. Meanwhile, I also worked as a freelance editor and camera operator for various production companies in Charleston.

In 2011, I was hired by Hollywood SC Studios to direct, produce, and edit a docu-reality TV series called Rescue Vet. The 13 episode docu-reality series aired on Animal Planet and Nat Geo Mundo in over 100 countries. That same year, I created my own video production company, Palmetto Coast Media, and began offering videography services for weddings, events, businesses, nonprofits, and much more.

In 2013, I co-created, co-produced, directed, filmed, and edited 13 episodes of a docu-reality TV series called Give Me Shelter, featuring the Charleston-based animal shelter, Pet Helpers. The series aired on Nat Geo Wild, Nat Geo Mundo, Hulu, and Animal Planet in over 100 countries.

In the years that followed, I continued to produce, film and edit various events, weddings, documentaries, commercials, and promo videos for businesses and nonprofits through Palmetto Coast Media and other production companies such as Wheelhouse Media, based in Charlotte, NC, and again for Litton Entertainment. While freelance editing for Litton, I added several more TV series credits to my resume such as Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan: Family Edition, Calling Dr. Pol, The Brady Barr Experience, The Great Doctor Scott, and Chicken Soup for the Soul: Hidden Heroes.

In 2018, a promo video I created for Pet Helpers Animal Shelter was voted by locals as the “Best Locally Produced Video” in Charleston City Paper. What an honor that was to receive so much love and support from the community!

In the spring of 2020, I rebranded and launched Palmetto Wedding Films – emotional, heartfelt, cinematic wedding films that give you all the feels! Since creating the first wedding film in 2011 (initially under the name Palmetto Coast Media), I have served over 130 couples in SC, NC, GA and beyond.

I stay quite busy operating both video production companies and freelancing for other production companies, but when time allows, I enjoy spending time with my two dogs and cat, going to the beach, cruising around Charleston on the boat, kayaking, paddle boarding, traveling and enjoying all the delicious cuisines Charleston has to offer.

I am SO excited to see what 2021 has in store and can’t wait to continue to serve more couples on the most magical day of their lives!
